The pretty little girl, few years younger than me, has always held a special place in my heart and memories... She was vivacious, smart and fun to play with. Hoa’s family lived 1/2 block from us.

Her mom was a well known midwife in the city. I still remember the day when my mom went to Hoà’s house in labor with my little sister. I was told to stay home. But I was worried about mom and her pain, I sneaked out of the house and followed mom. I watched my sister being born through a small broken window in amazement.

I thought about becoming a doctor some day delivering babies ...my sister’s birth event has stayed with me forever and whenever I think about it, Hoà, her cuteness reappears...many years later we met again in America and each time it was like the yesteryears
